Tracy Design Studio

We provide a full spectrum of architectural, construction and interior design services for the residential and commercial client.

For residential projects, our approach is to find that precarious balance between the beauty and the emotional substance; that is the hertiage of Europe on the one hand, and American ideas of comfort and practically on the other. If that balance is achieved, then serenity and timelessness will follow, and these above all, are what we seek.

George Tracy

George joined his wife Maria at Tracy Design Studio in 2012, bringing a stellar reputation and 35+ years of work in numerous building types including office, religious, governmental, institutional, and high-end residential design with project budgets ranging from $1.6M to $70M. Previously, George was a senior project manager with Hermes Architects, a partner at SDT Architects, and a design/graphics professor at the University of Houston and Rice University. He was inducted into the University of Houston’s College of Architecture “Hall of Fame” in 2001 and honored as one of its Top 50 graduates. Completed and current projects include St. Michael Catholic Church Narthex and School, Peck & MacArthur elementary schools (both LEED certified), West University Baptist Church Youth Ministry Building and Church Welcome Center, and Memorial Area Residential Estates on Knipp Oaks and Millbrook.

Maria Tracy

Maria Tracy started her professional career with a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University Of Houston College Of Architecture. As an Architectural History assistant, she performed in-depth studies of many “archetypes” and developed an appreciation for not only the classics, but the “newer design” eras such as the twenties, thirties and mid-century modern. She was privileged to teach Architectural History and Architectural Design courses in the Summer Studies Program with the University of Florence and University of Rome. Through those experiences she developed a wealth of knowledge and impassioned desire for the enhancement of architecture through interior design.

“In Florence and Rome, I found myself, for the first time. I was moved by the recognition of the profound effect Anthropomorphic spaces, or space that humans can relate to in Florence , and shocked by the monumental scale in Rome.”
